The DP wants 100 municipalities simply because it can take some, but can they survive? That is the question!...
As of 2015, Albania has 61 municipalities, which came into being and became an administrative reality through a territorial reform, which was not (due to its own wishes) the authorship of the Democratic Party.
Municipalities, which, viewed individually, may have some bigotry, but all of these municipalities are real cities with history in the country, not only in early history, but also in ancient and broader history.
No municipality, even the exaggerations that may have come as a result of a political compromise, such as some units offered to minorities from Pustec to Finiqi, are artificial. They existed, they were not created as a result of the political spirit of the systems.
However, in these 11 years, some of these local units, to say the least, have not managed to justify their survival. Bringing with reason, the discussion of a redrawing of the administrative map. But the DP, with the voice of the co-chair of the territorial reform, requires at least 100 municipalities.
A fixation that the DP, and not only it but also the opposition establishment, has been raising all these years as an opportunity for Albania to have pluralism, an opportunity for the opposition to seize the opportunity that the majority denied it with the 2015 reform.
Is this true? That the territorial reform has prevented the DP from getting its votes? There are many who put forward this thesis, surprisingly so far without arguments. The vote is universal. The DP insists on its thesis that the SP gains from the 2015 division.
However, when elections are held, the votes are counted, where the difference is vote for vote. The Spanish Albania of the Berisha-Rama electoral map of 2008, there have been cases where the votes have been wheel for wheel. But only once; in 2009.
So why then does the DP want 100 municipalities? And who will these 100 be, are they the black-breasted Dalmatians who entered Cruella's slaughterhouse in the famous Disney fairy tale who wanted to take her skin to make fur coats?
The answer is simple! The DP wants a day on the table according to the map that it considers easy to win. Namely, it does not want Tirana but an easier unit, for example Paskuqan which it wants separated from Kamza.
The former Communes of 2015 are nothing more than the rudiments of the united councils of communism, which were not local governments, but advisory levers of the Executive Committees. Of which there were 33, less than 61.
It's a shame that we were good when we were bad. Anyway, the answer doesn't need much effort: the DP wants 100 municipalities simply because it can take some, but can they survive? That's the question!
