In numbers, the result for the Socialists has increased very slightly. With an increase of approximately 6,500 votes in Fier, the Socialists have added three mandates; while with an increase of around 4,000 votes in Elbasan, they have added two mandates.
I was curious to see what caused the electoral earthquake in Fier and Elbasan. From a quick look at the votes for the Socialist Party so far (without the votes from Greece), it turns out that in Fier, the Socialist Party has received 97 thousand votes, up from 91,500 it had received in 2021, while in Elbasan it has received about 80 thousand votes out of 76 thousand it had received in 2021.

This is the effect of the electoral law formula for the first party, when faced with many electoral factors that fail to achieve a mandate. But the most important thing in this trend is the destruction of the Democratic Party and Berishism.
For all those who say that the Socialist Party has bought votes, the numbers are stubborn. The Socialists have built a wall that protects their 800 thousand votes and sit on top of the walls. That's all they do. They have nothing to do with the votes of others. As long as they are united and patronize their votes, anyone in front of them must respond in the same way. This is what Belinda Balluku has done.
The opposition facing the socialists not only failed to unite, but the new parties also failed to come together, as they do not actually represent anything new.
All of this creates a lack of a spirit of victory in the opposition and a lack of hope to break through the socialists' walls.
If you look carefully, the Socialist Party's vote in Fier and Elbasan is a managerial vote. They have preserved their votes and have broken through some DP bastions here and there to cause more pessimism than to get votes.
So we don't have any new political spirit from the SP nor any new influx of votes in its address. We simply have a battle to preserve their fortress. The rest has been a brawl between Zegjine and Gazi, but not politics.
In Fier in 2017, the Socialist Party had 103 thousand votes, and received 10 mandates, because the opposition was more compact and was able to achieve more mandates, while today it has fewer votes, that is, with 97 thousand, and received 12 mandates.
Elbasan as well. Even in Elbasan, the campaign this time has been deeply political and without a single word about other factors outside the Socialist Party. Only Gjergj Luca has contributed with a few videos.
Maznik is not a powerful man who has, for example, the managerial power of Balluk at his disposal, as he has a ministry of four people, and yet he has managed to add two mandates by adding 4,000 votes, after managing the destruction of the DP in areas controlled by Sali Berisha.
And to understand more clearly what has happened throughout the entire era of socialist governance, it is enough to remember that today they have won only 83 mandates, as many as they won together with the SMI in 2013, while now the SMI is with the DP and they have 50 mandates together.
It is very simple: the LSI has disappeared from the political scene and Berisha has made an alliance with a phantom party that deceived him and took four mandates from him. The LSI votes and the desperate votes of the DP have been distributed to new parties, which, by not being together, have made the SP look stronger, bigger and more powerful. In fact, it is what it has been – it has simply protected its votes and conveyed security to the Albanians for further governance, in the face of a fragmented, clientelist and in some cases ridiculous opposition.
For the Socialist Party to win, they need a leader, a coalition, an idea – all disinfected from Berishaism. When they have that, they will have victory. It is better for God to leave Berisha alone, not the opposition.
