Sali Berisha tried to present the $6 million lobbying with an American company before the elections as an innovation for regulating relations with the US, but after May 11, it turned into a huge boomerang.
Not that it wanted to make the lobbying agreement public before the elections, but since the contract was revealed by the media and was covered with all possible details for the public, the democratic leadership attempted to recover the damage by presenting it as a fait accompli that the US is on the side of the DP and is eagerly awaiting Sali Berisha, the 'new sheriff' in town, to take over the leadership of the new Albanian government.

Berisha began to make frequent public appearances with the former campaign manager of Donald Trump, the DP's contractor for the opposition's May 11 campaign, Chris LaCivita, wore a hat like Trump's, declared himself with the same vocabulary as the American president and expressed himself with words and even imitated his gestures, while declaring himself against Soros and the communists in Albania, whom he threatened that they would definitely leave power on May 11!
Moreover, Berisha began calling himself "the new sheriff" who would soon come into government, in line with the label that the US vice president gave Trump while speaking in Brussels in front of European leaders, where he underlined that "there is already a new sheriff in Washington."
We don't know exactly if Berisha himself believed what he was saying, but the way he behaved seemed like he liked being called the 'new sheriff' of Albania. But we are sure that his supporters in the DP dome, including those who went back and forth to Washington, believed 100% that Berisha was the 'new sheriff' of Albania after May 11! They even melted when they said this!
And as if to make the slogan 'new sheriff in town' more believable, Berisha has posed with a cowboy hat, which he received as a gift from an Albanian-American from Texas, Lodovik Tetaj. They donate any hat, any 'weatherproof' flag, they are patriots. Our diaspora in America does not give a penny for the prayers, as they do not want to 'teach us wrong'. After all, they have never given for 35 years in a row, let's understand, and because they are angry, but they do not have the skills for this job!
"The new sheriff in town," Berisha writes, as he appears in a cowboy hat. So, apparently Berisha saw himself as the "new sheriff" of Albania, since he was following and imitating Donald Trump in his actions without any change. Imagine how he looks to Noka, Albana Vokshi and even Agron Gjekmarkaj. Not only a sheriff but also a lion that has gone to the lion!
The result of the May 11 elections is already known, there is no need for further comments. Edi Rama and the PS won 83 MPs, a full 9 mandates more than in the 2021 elections. The DP and the coalition led by Sali Berisha scored a devastating loss, receiving only 50 MPs, while the Socialists, together with their hypothetical ally PSD, exceed the qualified majority, with a full 86 MPs, without having any need to seek the opposition's votes for important laws. Not even the recount in Tirana and everywhere requested by Berisha changed the result. On the contrary, it also removed some votes that were cast in excess for the DP by the counters, these are human errors!
Berisha not only did not become the 'new sheriff' of Albania, according to the imitative approach with the labels for Trump, but he is already risking the dissolution of the DP, which is in its fourth consecutive mandate in the opposition and if the 'Basha' article is respected, Berisha should have left the post of the leader of the DP on May 12. Something he will never do, since Berisha will not give up his 'property', because he reduced it so much just to have the 'controlling package' of the opposition! Which is difficult to keep for long!
Not only did Berisha not win the elections, but all his efforts to present himself as the choice of the US and Donald Trump as the main partner in Albania have turned into a huge boomerang! We say this because, now after the devastating defeat of the May 11 elections, the 'new sheriff' in the making has started having problems with the justice system for the $6 million lobbying in the US.
Raportohet se SPAK ka nisur hetimet për çështjen e kontratës së lobimit për llogari të PD nga një fondacion amerikan. Nga Prokuroria e Posaçme nuk sqarohet se çfarë elementësh e kanë bindur që nga faza e verifikimeve të kalojë në hetim, por ajo që dihet është se procedimi penal mban numrin 143, ndaj prokuroria ka kërkuar ta pasurojë këtë çështje me kontratën e lobimit. Për të siguruar këtë dokument Altin Dumani i ka kërkuar zyrtarisht PD-së që t’i vendosë kontratën në dispozicion, fakt i konfirmuar fundjavën e kaluar nga Flamur Noka, i cili nuk ishte thirrur për këtë hetim, por për krimet zgjedhore të 11 majit të kallëzuara nga demokratët.
“PD ka bërë transparencë të plotë, kemi vënë çdo gjë në dispozicion s’kemi gjë për të fshehur”, u shpreh Noka për mediat. Kontrata me një kompani amerikane në Uashington me vlerë 6 milionë dollarë e për një afat 2-vjeçar u nënshkrua në 4 prill 2025. Si firmosës në Shqipëri ishte sekretari i përgjithshëm i PD, Flamur Noka dhe si garant në SHBA një shtetas i identifikuar si Nuredin Seci, një tropojan 72 vjeçar, emigrant i vonë ky, i cili tërë jetën e tij ka punuar elektricist dhe që ka emigruar në Amerikë për një jetë më të mirë.
Demokratët pretendojnë se ka qenë komuniteti shqiptaro-amerikan ai që përmes fondacionit “Make Albania Great Again” kishte kontraktuar kompaninë “Continental” për të ndihmuar në konsolidimin e marrëdhënieve të PD. Pa përmendur emra dhe pa zbardhur listën e ‘donatorëve’ të këtij fondacioni, që kanë vënë ‘dorën në zemër’ dhe kanë hedhur 6 milionë dollarë për t’i hequr ‘non gratën’ Berishës. Por ama garanti, me sa dimë nga praktika për marrëveshjet deri nga më të thjeshtat, ka për detyrë që të mbulojë pagesat nëse firmatari i kontratës së subjektit, në rastin konkret Flamur Noka në emër të PD, refuzon të paguajë paratë sipas marrëveshjes nga pamundësia apo nga karshillëku! Është pengu mes palëve për të bërë likujdimet sipas rastit të bllokimit. Pikërisht atëherë hyn në lojë garanti, i cili sikurse thonë gojët e liga është një emigrant i zakonshëm që jeton në kushtet e mbijetesës. Pra copë copës sipas standardit amerikan!
Por hetimi me sa duket ka nisur që herët. Pasi mësohet se menjëherë pasi u bënë publike të dhënat e kësaj marrëveshjeje lobimi në SHBA të PD, pa kaluar shumë orë në 24 prill, SPAK njoftoi nisjen e verifikimeve. Kjo çështje mbeti me këtë status deri në 28 maj kur SPAK kreu lëvizjen e parë dhe i dërgoi kërkesën Flamur Nokës si sekretar i përgjithshëm i PD. Në mes të muajit qershor SPAK ka administruar të dhënat dokumentare të PD, që siç konfirmohet nga burime zyrtare po kryhen tashmë në kuadër të procedimit penal. Dhe hetimet do të vijojnë, pasi Noka është thjeshtë dora zyrtare, pas tij dihet kush vepron. Është vetë Sali Berisha. Pasi dhe sot Berisha nuk u paraqit në GJKKO për gjyqin e aferës “Partizani’. Madje anuloi dhe konferencën e përditshme të shtypit të orës 12.00 ku ‘denonconte’ vjedhjen e votës. Ka nisur të mos lëvizë më vërdallë, derisa të qetësohet situata të kuptohemi! “Sherifat” zhduken nga qarkullimi ndonjëherë!
Por duhet të jemi të sinqertë. Kur vjen puna tek hetimi dhe gjykimi i i Berishës nga ana e SPAK dhe GJKKO, nuk është thënë se mund të jemi entuziastë se kjo çështje do të shkojë në fund. Kemi parë se si zvarriten çështjet që kanë lidhje me Berishën, duke filluar nga ’21 janari’, dosje që erdhi e gatshme nga Gjykata e Strasburgut, tek “Gërdeci”, hetimi i pasurisë dhe tashmë tek hetimi dhe gjykimi i aferës “Partizani”.
Edhe këtë të hënë ndodhi e çuditshmja, fletëthirrjen për seancën e sotme të gjykimit nuk guxoi askush t’ia dërgonte Berishës në dorë, megjithëse është në liri të plotë dhe mund t’ia dërgonin tek selia buzë Lanës apo në shtëpi, por ia dorëzuan dhëndërit të tij Jamarbër Malltezi që është në arrest shtëpie, në të njejtin pallat me Berishën. Por që nuk e kishte ‘parë’ vjehrrin fare këto javët e fundit! Pasi këtë të hënë ai deklaroi në sallën e gjyqit se nuk e kishte njoftuar vjehrrin Berisha. Janë zvarritje ordinere këto, duke hequr ditë pas dite nga një ‘tullë’ në besueshmërinë e drejtësisë së re tek qytetarët. E cila në perceptimin e shqiptarëve u ngrit për të futur Berishën, Metën dhe bashkëqeverisësit e tyre në burg në krye të herës, dhe pastaj për të burgosur të gjithë abuzuesit në qeverisjen e Edi Ramës. Këta të drejtësisë së re e filluan nga e fundit. Punë e tyre.
Por ne duhet të jemi të sinqertë me veten sëpaku, s’kemi fort shpresë as që këtij hetimit të kontratës së re të lobimit prej 6 milionë dollarësh të PD me një kompani në SHBA për të hequr ‘non gratën’ e Berishës e për t’i siguruar një vizë për të kaluar përtej Atlantikut, SPAK do t’i shkojë deri në fund. Apo ‘larg qoftë’ të fillojë të hetojë vetë për kontratën me LaCivitën dhe të tjera, që thuhet se arrijnë dhe këto në 20 milionë dollarë, as që e shkojmë nëpër mend. Thjeshtë nisi ky hetim, që mund të vijojë pafund, e që mund të shërbejë si një statistikë pune për vetë SPAK-un. Që tashmë ka nisur të ecë dhe ai me perceptim dhe jo me rezultate. Kasaveti ynë ky.

We don't know if this reluctance of SPAK is a lack of courage or love and nostalgia for Berisha. Let's wait! SPAK has the support of the Albanians, but we can't 'inject' it with courage and the desire to enforce the law! You either have that or you don't! As for the 'leak' of information from SPAK about Berisha's file, forget it. It never happens, there are no selective sheets marked with yellow ink like for other files, especially those of the majority, that appear randomly in the media. And how many times have the officials under investigation coughed, who were questioned!
