Albanians dissatisfied even before the scandal at the Oncology hospital

Details of the survey on the health system.

Among the 115 questions of the CSDG Security Barometer (which was based on the rigorous statistical survey that I conducted throughout the territory of Albania in the period April 6-15), there were also several questions about the public health system. One question was about the treatment of patients in public health institutions. Specifically, the question was: "Do you think that doctors and health care providers in public health institutions treat patients with respect and care?" And here's how the respondents answered:

Albanians dissatisfied even before the scandal at the Oncology hospital

Only 21.7% of respondents (representing about 431,000 residents aged 18 and over) were of the opinion that doctors and health care providers in public health institutions treat patients with respect and care. The vast majority of the respondents (77.7%, representing about 1.55 million inhabitants aged 18 and over) were of the opinion that treatment with care and respect happens only sometimes or never.

It would be interesting to ask the same respondents now, after the scandal in the oncology hospital!

NOTE: The rigorous statistical survey for the CSDG Safety Barometer was conducted across the country by 34 professional surveyors. The selected sample was reweighted statistically, to better represent the country's adult population geographically, demographically and politically.
