Only a quarter of respondents are of the opinion that the Reestablishment Confederation with small opposition parties will influence an opposition victory in 2025

Exponents of the opposition are showing optimism for a victory in 2025. The impetus for this optimism is the creation of a confederation of the Reestablishment with small opposition factions and parties, as well as the latest American polls, which show that Trump currently has an advantage over Biden in the presidential race.

What do ordinary Albanians think about the likelihood of the opposition winning in 2025?

In an electronic survey for albanjarja.com, which I conducted today with 2000 completely random SMS (sent throughout the country), I asked these three questions: "1- Do you think that the Reestablishment Confederation with small opposition parties will influence for a victory of the opposition in 2025?", "2-Do you think that a victory of Trump in the USA would influence for a victory of the opposition in 2025?", and "3-Who do you want to be prime minister in 2025? ". I closed the survey when a national sample of 1100 respondents was completed, representative of the country's adult inhabitants, geographically, demographically and politically.

Below are the responses of the respondents.

Only a quarter of the respondents are of the opinion that the Reestablishment Confederation with small opposition parties will influence the victory of the opposition in 2025 (specifically, 18.2% answered "Yes", and 6.3% "I lean towards yes"). From a rough statistical extrapolation, it turns out that about 500,000 adult residents are "yes" or leaning towards "yes". On the other hand, it turns out that approximately 1,550,000 adults do not think that the Reestablishment Confederation with small opposition parties will increase the chances of an opposition victory in 2025. (Note: Year on May 14, about 500,000 voters voted for mayors of the Union for Victory, while about 800,000 voted for socialist mayors.)

Among the respondents, 30% are inclined to the opinion that a Trump victory in the USA would affect the victory of the opposition in 2025 (specifically, 21.4% answered "Yes", and 8.6% "I lean towards yes"). From a rough statistical extrapolation, it turns out that about 615 thousand adult residents are "yes" or leaning towards "yes". On the other hand, it turns out that approximately 1 million and 435 thousand adult residents do not think that a Trump victory in the USA would increase the likelihood of an opposition victory in Albania. (Note: On May 14, about 500,000 voters voted for mayors of the Union for Victory, while about 800,000 voted for socialist mayors.)

Fully 43% of respondents (statistically representing about 882 thousand adult inhabitants) want the prime minister to be someone whose name is neither Edi Rama, nor Sali Berisha, nor Lulzim Basha, nor Ilir Meta. Then the list of preferences continues as follows:

37.1% of respondents want Rama as prime minister (statistically representing about 761 thousand adult residents); Berisha 15.1% of respondents (statistically representing about 310 thousand adult residents); Bashan 3% of respondents (statistically represent about 62 thousand adult residents); and Meta 1.8% of respondents (statistically represent about 37 thousand adult residents).
