
An Albanian was injured as a result of gunfire in Podgorica. The incident occurred on Thursday evening near the Gorica hill, while the perpetrator, an Albanian citizen, was arrested by the police.
In an official announcement, the Montenegrin Police announced that the injured man is an Albanian citizen, BK, who was shot after an argument he had with another Albanian, identified as EB, 23 years old.
"Police officers of the Regional Security Center 'Qendra', taking urgent measures and actions to shed light on the criminal offense of attempted murder that was committed at around 21:45 on Thursday in Podgorica to the detriment of the citizen of the Republic of Albania, BK, organized the operation to capture the perpetrator of the crime, by imposing increased controls at border points, but also in the area where the crime occurred," the statement said.
The Police Department added that Special Police Units were also engaged in the operation.
Police reportedly arrested the perpetrator in the Moraca River canyon, between the Blazov and Viseçi bridges.
"Albanian citizen EB, 23 years old, was arrested, and in addition to Albanian travel documents, he also possessed Kosovo travel documents," the police said.
They reported that the injured BK was taken to the Clinical Center of Montenegro (CCM) for medical assistance, where emergency surgical measures were taken.
