The former director of the "Kosova" prison in Lushnje, Judmir Shurdhi, has been arrested by the police after he was wanted for violation of equality in tenders.
Judmir Shurdhi was sentenced in June 2022 to 1 year and four months in prison by the Court Against Organized Crime and Corruption (GJKKO). He was found guilty of the criminal offenses of abuse of office and violation of equality in tenders.
The former director of the "Kosova" prison in Lushnja is accused of violating the procedures for the tender for the transport of prison guards, together with his subordinates.
"The police operation coded "Last meeting" is finalized, for the capture and handcuffing of a 43-year-old man sentenced to imprisonment for the criminal offense "Violation of her equality in public tenders or auctions" of the Lushnjë army, following the work for the arrest of wanted citizens and putting them before some criminal actions, finalized the coded police operation "Last meeting", as a result of which the citizen was arrested and detained: Judmi Shurdhi, 43 years old, resident of Lushnja.
The Special Court of First Instance against Corruption and Organized Crime, Tirana, with the decision dated 07.12.2022, has sentenced this citizen to 1 year and 4 months of imprisonment for the criminal offense "Violation of serious equality in tenders or public auctions", carried out in cooperation.
This citizen, in the period 2020-2021, during which he was the director of the Kosovo prison, Lushnjë, in cooperation with other citizens, committed actions that violated their equality in tenders or public.
The procedural materials went through the various different procedures of the Special Corruption and Organized Crime of Tirana, for further processing," the police announced.
