The Special Court Against Corruption and Organized Crime (SCOC) imposed the security measure of 'house arrest' on Pandeli Bozha, the father of the PSD candidate in the Fier Region. Pandeli Bozha was arrested on suspicion of active corruption in the elections.
Bozha is suspected of being involved in vote buying in order to favor his daughter, Limonera Bozha, who ran in the May 11 elections under the Social Democratic Party (PSD) banner.
According to the prosecution, Pandeli Bozha used personal contacts and financial means to influence voters in favor of his daughter's candidacy. He was arrested during an operation undertaken by authorities as part of an investigation into electoral irregularities.
However, the GJKKO decided that Bozha should remain under house arrest, taking into account his age and poor health.
