SPAK has indicted Erald Elezin, the administrator of the Albanian Electric Power Corporation (KESH), on charges of abuse of office and violation of equality in tenders. The same charges also apply to the head of the ARRSH, Gentian Gyli.
Sources from the investigation inform the media that evidence against Elezit was obtained from the analysis of the seized cell phone of the former director of the Albanian Anti-Corruption Agency, Evis Berberi, who is already under investigation.
SPAK has expanded the property investigation against 25 suspects – 22 individuals and 3 private entities – including procedures for suspected abuse of energy efficiency funds, financed by the European Union.
The investigations are still ongoing and involve another faction linked to senior administration officials. At the time of the crime, both Gyli and Elezi were part of the Bid Evaluation Committee (KVO), reporting directly to Evis Berberi.
