The Greek police have arrested the Albanian Ralf Feruku, 48 years old, on the charge of a murder and an injury that occurred in 2014.
According to the Greek police, Feruku was arrested on Tuesday evening at Athens airport. He was wanted for the murder of Aleks Maksim Rapo and the wounding of Maria Shkëlqim Lamja.
The incident took place in the 50th kilometer of the axis that connects the aerodrome with the center of Athens.
The victims were in the Smart brand vehicle with license plate IMT 2460 when a quantity of explosives exploded leaving Rapo dead on the spot and seriously injuring Maria Lamjan.
It is worth noting that the suspected author of this event, Ralf Feruku, was caught during a routine check in Lamia while he was in a car with the famous convict of Greek prisons, Alket Rizai.
According to the local police, a rapid intervention patrol stopped for a check for anti-Covid measures, a vehicle with dark windows, and surprisingly it was found that Alket Rizai was on board the vehicle, who had received a few days' leave from the prison of The room where he served his sentence. Together with him was 39-year-old Ralf Feruku and a Greek citizen, also a very well-known person in the world of crime in Greece.
After being found without masks, the three people were fined 300 euros each for violating the Covid-19 rules, and subsequently their personal data was verified in the Greek police system. From the verification, it was found that Ferruku was wanted for several violent acts, such as murder, wounding and fining.
Subsequently, Feruku was deported from Greece because there was not enough evidence against him for his involvement in the execution of Rapo.
At that time, Feruku had denied the accusations, which he did again as soon as he was stopped by the authorities the night before.
He will be sent to court to familiarize himself with the new evidence in his charge regarding the 2014 event.
