Alket Rizai, one of the most famous inmates of Greek prisons, has asked the court to be released from prison.
In 2016, Rizai was sentenced to 10 years and 8 months in prison for several criminal offenses.
On February 13, the court of Lamia considered the Albanian's request, refusing to release him from prison. He has been described as a high risk person due to several attempts to escape from prison.
Rizai received the last sentence in 2018 with 3 years and 26 months in prison for inserting several knives into the cells in the prison cells. In 2021, Alket Rizai and the 45-year-old were caught by the Greek police in an armored car.
According to the Greek media, Rizai must have been in a cell and his release from prison is still unclear.
Alket Rizai in 2006 and 2009, in cooperation with other Greek convicts, managed to escape from the most secure prison in Greece, that of Koridhalos, using a helicopter.
Then, he attempted the third escape, taking 6 Malandrino prison policemen hostage.
