Interior Minister Taulant Balla has reacted to the joint operation with the Spanish authorities that led to the bust of an important drug trafficking network from Ecuador to the EU.
In a post on social networks, Balla said that the always stronger and successful cooperation with EUROPOL and INTERPOL is a clear indicator of the reliability and professionalism of the State Police.
"I have just received the congratulations for the contribution of the State Police and SPAK, in the successful realization of the La Pampa operation, under the coordination of EUROPOL and the implementation by the Spanish National Police, which led to the strike of an important drug trafficking network from Ecuador towards the EU. This international operation marked: 31 arrests, in Spain and Ecuador, the seizure of 25 vehicles, 10 firearms, electronic devices worth about 13 million euros and nearly 3 million cash in different currencies and assets seized with a total value of about 48 million euros.
The always stronger and more successful cooperation with the police cooperation agencies, EUROPOL and INTERPOL, is a clear indicator of the reliability and professionalism of the State Police, qualities already known and appreciated by these partner organizations," writes the Minister of the Interior.
