The prosecution has seized the assets of 34-year-old Ismail Gjineci, a resident of Tirana, as they are suspected of having benefited from criminal activity.
The Tirana Prosecutor's Office has seized assets worth 228 thousand euros belonging to a 34-year-old man convicted of human trafficking. He was sending girls to Italy for the purpose of trafficking.
It is learned that an apartment and two vehicles, which were registered in the name of his father, were seized from the young man Ismail Gjineci.
The Prosecutor's Office is continuing its work to uncover other illegally acquired assets that the 34-year-old may have registered in the names of other citizens.
"The assets of a citizen convicted of human trafficking are being seized."
The assets (1 apartment and 2 vehicles), worth around 228 thousand euros, were registered in the name of the convicted citizen's father.
The Money Laundering and Criminal Assets Investigation Section, in cooperation with the Seized and Confiscated Assets Administration Agency, as a result of the investigative and tracking work carried out under the direction of the Tirana Prosecution Office, for the identification and seizure of assets obtained from criminal activities, finalized the "Real Owner" operation.
As part of the operation, the decision of the Tirana Court to impose preventive seizure on assets registered in the name of the father of citizen I. Gj., 34 years old, resident of Tirana, convicted of human trafficking, was executed.
Specifically, 1 apartment and 2 vehicles were seized, worth around 228 thousand euros.
"Work is continuing under the direction of the Prosecution to uncover other illegally acquired assets that the 34-year-old may have registered in the names of other citizens ," the Prosecution announced.
