A 43-year-old man was arrested by the Tirana police for walking around with a firearm.
Blerim Gjeta, a resident of Shkodër, was arrested in Vorë after a firearm, a pistol, a comb and combat ammunition were found and seized in his vehicle.
According to the police, the 43-year-old was previously convicted of various criminal offences.
"The Special Operations Section at DVP Tirana, in cooperation with Police Station No. 7, in implementation of the measures of the operational plan "Rule of Law", based on the information provided by the police intelligence, finalized the coded operation "Van".
During the operation, citizen B. Gj., 43 years old, resident of Shkodër, previously convicted for criminal offenses against life and person, who was driving an armed vehicle, was arrested in the act.
As material evidence, the firearm, pistol, comb and combat ammunition, that the 43-year-old possessed, was seized.
The materials were passed to the Prosecutor's Office at the Court of First Instance of the General Jurisdiction in Tirana, for further procedural actions," the police announced.
