Two days ago, RENEA forces conducted searches at Safet Bajri's apartment in Shkodra.
His arrest came after the order issued by the Criminal Court, while Bajri is currently being transferred to Tirana.
Two days ago, the Special Prosecution Office provided details from the investigation into the gunfight that occurred in Rranxë, Bushati, on August 23, 2024, where the armored car "Audi A8" in which Samuel Troshani and Izmir Sakica were traveling was hit with a gun.
At least 3 identified members of the Bajri group in Shkodra, last summer, had organized everything to carry out perhaps one of the most serious criminal events: To kill several family members by suddenly going to the village where they live.
Samuel Troshani, Izmir Sakica and Franko Leka, along with several other individuals still unidentified by SPAK, but all considered part of a structured criminal group, armed themselves to the teeth, with weapons and armored vehicles, to kill one of their rivals, Aleksandër Prendin. The group went to the village where he lives, Rranxë i Bushatit, late in the afternoon of August 23, 2024, to kill not only him, but also other family members, living in the same area.
Aleksandër Prendi feared a criminal incident against him. As soon as he saw the suspicious vehicles, he fired at them, driving them away without committing the murder. For these shots that his gun fired, SPAK has declared him wanted for attempted murder.
Two of the people that SPAK finds behind the plan to kill Prendin, Samuel Troshani, Izmir Sakica, are in prison after they surrendered to the Shkodra Police on January 22, 2025 for beating a citizen in Shkodra.
Meanwhile, on February 18, 2025, the General Directorate of the State Police in cooperation with the National Bureau of Investigation executed security measures for the persons under investigation Izmir Sakica and Samuel Troshani and the persons under investigation Franko Leka and Aleksandër Prendi were declared wanted. They are accused of committing criminal offenses as a structured criminal group.
"From the investigations conducted, it results that on August 23, 2024, at around 5:00 p.m., the persons under investigation, Izmir Sakica, Samuel Troshani and Franko Leka, together with other unidentified persons, set off in an organized manner in armored vehicles towards the village of Rranxë, in the Bushat Administrative Unit, Vau i Dejës Municipality.
"The persons under investigation were armed and there are reasonable suspicions based on evidence that they went to this area with the intention of killing the person under investigation Aleksandër Prendi and his family members, residents of this area. While they were passing through this area, they were shot by the person under investigation Aleksandër Prendi," SPAK informed.
The third suspect, Franko Leka, was not found, even though RENEA landed in Shkodra in an operation covering key points that are suspected of serving as bases for hiding wanted persons or as places where evidence for SPAK investigations could be found.
An armored Audi A8 that received bullet marks was left at the scene by the criminal group, and the police discovered that it was unregistered, with unknown ownership and with foreign license plates, which do not match the same vehicle.
Also yesterday, by decision of the GJKKO, a search was carried out in several apartments and premises in the city of Shkodra, which are suspected of being used as bases for housing persons under investigation or as places where evidence for criminal offenses, which are being investigated by the Special Prosecution, could be found.
Searches were conducted in the Dobraç and Livadhe areas, where SPAK suspected they might also find suspects for the massacre of October last year in which 4 people were killed in Dobraç.
