Five people have been arrested in Elbasan, after cultivating and selling cannabis.
Father and son, Skender and Rodolf Bashvogli, were arrested by the police after cultivating 150 cannabis roots around their apartment in Peqin.
During the police check in the apartment, they found 2.6 million lek, 3890 € and 6770 pounds.
Also, Kadri, Miklovan and Ervin Shega (father, son and grandson) were arrested by the Peqin police, after cannabis in the process of drying and a quantity of cannabis ready for sale were found in their apartment.
"The coded police operation "Vashaj" is finalized.
2 cases of criminal activities in the field of narcotics were investigated.
The operation, the result of an investigation with proactive methods, initiated by the Police of Elbasan, in 2024, and followed in cooperation with the Prosecution of Elbasan.
As a result of the operation, 5 citizens, perpetrators of these cases, were arrested.
150 cannabis plants are cultivated and destroyed.
Cannabis narcotic plants in the process of drying, cannabis narcotic substance divided into doses, a large amount of money in lek, euros and pounds profited from this criminal activity, and a cold weapon (knife) were seized.
The Narcotics Investigation Sector of the Elbasan Local Police Directorate in the framework of a criminal proceeding followed with proactive methods, in cooperation with the Prosecutor's Office of Elbasan, based on the information gathered as a result of the investigation, in cooperation with the services of the Special Force "Shqiponja" ", of the Operational Force of DVP Elbasan, and the National Security Force Unit Tirana, successfully organized and finalized the police anti-drug operation coded "Vashaj".
In the framework of this operation in the village of Vashaj, Peqin, 2 cases of cultivation, production and sale of narcotics were investigated, cases for which the citizens were caught and arrested in the act:
- SB, 62 years old and RB, 23 years old (father and son), since during the search in the apartment of these citizens and around it, 150 narcotic plants were found, most of them cultivated in the ground and a part of the plants in the process of drying, a quantity of cannabis for sale, 2,600,000 new leks, 3,890 euros and 6,770 pounds, suspected to have benefited from this criminal activity and 1 knife, which were seized as material evidence;
- K. Sh., 58 years old, M. Sh., 34 years old and E. Sh., 19 years old (father, son and grandson), as several cannabis plants were found in the premises around the residence of citizen K. Sh. drying process, as well as a quantity of cannabis ready for sale, which were seized as material evidence.
The procedural materials were handed over to the Prosecution at the Court of First Instance of Elbasan General Jurisdiction, for the criminal offenses "Cultivation of narcotic plants", "Production and sale of narcotics" and "Unauthorized production, possession, purchase or sale of cold weapons". , the police announced.
