The fire that engulfed warehouses in the used clothing market in the 5 May area of Tirana continues to be active.
It is reported that 50 warehouses have been burned down so far.
The situation appears dangerous due to suspicions that there may be gas cylinders in the burning premises.
The flames are large and have caused panic among residents and surrounding businesses.
Firefighters are working at maximum capacity to isolate the fire and prevent its spread, while police have set up a security perimeter and evacuated residents of buildings near the area.
Several fire engines and dozens of firefighters are at the scene, supported by auxiliary forces from other cities.
