Spanish police have solved the murder of 31-year-old Albanian Miklovan Dakaj, whose body was found in a bag in the Casasola reservoir, in the Almogías area, near Malaga. According to Spanish media Malaga Hoy , three people have been arrested for this crime.

According to the investigation, the suspected perpetrators not only aimed to physically eliminate the victim, but also to completely conceal the crime. Investigators say that pressure was exerted on the young man's family and friends to give up the search, while fake news about the alleged discovery of the body was also spread in the Albanian media.

The body was discovered on October 14, after the water level in the reservoir dropped significantly. A camper noticed a suspicious bag in the mud. Inside was the victim's body, bound at the hands and feet, wrapped in a bag along with cement blocks. According to police, the perpetrators intended for the body to sink and not surface.

The investigation had begun a few months earlier, on May 12, 2025, when the victim's partner reported him missing in Marbella. She stated that the two had lunch together in Puerto Banús and that he had then left, claiming to be meeting some friends in Puerto de la Torre. Since then, she has not heard from him again.

Police quickly suspected that it was a case of criminal disappearance, as there was no ransom demand and no contact with the family. Investigators analyzed security cameras, the victim's movements, and her social circle.

According to authorities, the victim and his partner had been living on the Costa del Sol for about a year, having previously lived in Italy. The investigation revealed that the young man had a criminal record for international drug trafficking. This led investigators to the trail of organized crime and a settling of scores.

Police say the suspected perpetrators arrived from Barcelona and that the operation was planned. According to investigators, they lured the victim under the pretext of a drug deal in Puerto de la Torre, then drove her to the Casasola reservoir, where they allegedly killed her and hid her body.

Although the motive has not been officially confirmed, police suspect the crime is related to an unpaid debt or a conflict within an illegal activity. Authorities emphasize that there is no evidence of robbery, as money or drugs did not appear to have been the direct object of the incident.
