
A 43-year-old man was arrested by the Tirana police, after being accused of fraud by taking an amount of 23 thousand euros from an Albanian citizen abroad.
According to the police, the 43-year-old resident of Divjakë took the amount of money from the 56-year-old in Italy, promising to publish a book of poems.
The 43-year-old is also accused of the criminal offense "Malicious use of telephone calls", after he threatened the 53-year-old that he would publish some personal videos on social networks.
"The Sector for the Investigation of Economic and Financial Crimes, in cooperation with the Sector for Special Operations and Research in DVP Tirana, under the direction of the Prosecutor's Office at the Court of First Instance of General Jurisdiction Tirana, has finalized the coded police operation "Book".
During the operation, citizen BF, 43 years old, resident of Divjakë, was detained for the criminal offenses of "Fraud" and "Malicious use of telephone calls".
This citizen is suspected of having fraudulently embezzled the amount of 23,000 euros from a 56-year-old resident of Italy, with the promise that he would publish a book of poems for him. Also, it is suspected that through some personal videos he blackmailed him, asking him for money for not publishing the videos on social networks", the police announced.
