The Court of Korça has left 45-year-old Bledar Trëndafili in prison, who a month ago burned his ex-wife Melisa Trëndafili with gasoline.
The 45-year-old man was recognized today with the security measure "prison arrest" set in absentia by the court of Korça after the serious incident.
The prosecution requested that Bledar Trëndafili be left in prison until the end of the investigation, a request which was accepted by the court.
Around 17:00 in the afternoon of August 31, while his wife was returning from work, Trëndafili threw gasoline at her and then set her on fire. The 31-year-old woman ambushed her wife on the street a few meters from the apartment where she lived with her mother and two minor children aged 3 and 5 after the separation.
They were in the process of divorce, while the author could not accept the fact of separation from his wife. Melisa Trëndafili received first aid at the Korça hospital and was transported to Tirana for specialized treatment.
We remind you that Bledar Trêndafili was arrested on October 3, 2024, after a month of intensive research by the police. The suspected perpetrator was caught in the city of Korça, while he hid from the police for 1 month after committing the serious act.
