Since the establishment of the Special Prosecution Office against Corruption and Organized Crime, despite the hype that there have been many operations to crack down on organized crime and corruption, 251 security measures issued by this investigative body and signed by the GJKKO have not been executed. This data is confirmed by SPAK itself in response to an information requested by Syri Televizione.
" From the data available to the International Cooperation and Liaison Sector for Joint Investigations at the Special Prosecution Office, it results that during this period 251 persons have been declared internationally wanted, mainly for criminal offenses in the field of narcotics, laundering of proceeds of crime or criminal activity and premeditated murder, criminal offenses committed in the special form of cooperation, that of a structured criminal group, a structured criminal group and the commission of criminal offenses by a criminal organization and a structured criminal group, " SPAK's response to Syri TV states.
Only in recent months have there been several operations to crack down on some powerful Albanian criminal organizations involved in the trafficking of large quantities of hard narcotics, or involved in murders and assassinations. However, it is evident that in most cases, the leaders of these groups have not been caught and at best some of them have either been arrested for previous proceedings, or have been arrested by other partner countries on account of cases they have open there.
Some of the special cases to highlight are the latest one for the organization of Franc Çopja and Ervis Çela. The first was extradited from Dubai on behalf of Belgium, and the second was captured in Albania a little over a month ago on behalf of Italian justice, after having committed murder in that country.
But in any case, Julian Balla, winner of tenders near the central and local government, known for his strong financial influence, has not yet been caught although he is considered one of the most important subjects in the SPAK file. To go back a little in time, to the "Ura" operation that hit the Troplini organization, the leader of this gang Elvis Doçi, known as "Visi i Pojës was not caught. Earlier still, Suel Çela enjoy freedom, although he is one of the most wanted characters in the country, who founded and led one of the most powerful criminal organizations, says SPAK. Subjects who are linked to the "Metamorphosis" file and that of "Golden Lead 1 and 2" remain in the hunt.
These are not ordinary characters, but crime bosses who have ordered murders, corrupted police officers, judges and prosecutors, and even legislators like Altin Hajri in the "Çyrbja" file, but despite this, they enjoy freedom, and for some of them, there are signals that they continue illegal activity inside and outside the country. 251 high-risk people who are wanted is a worrying figure, which has often sparked public or not controversy between SPAK and the police. A debate about debunking that opens every time operations are carried out and measures are not executed. /SYRI TV
