A 20-year-old Albanian man has been arrested by Italian police after being caught distributing cocaine in Perugia. It is suspected that he is part of a wider drug trafficking network in the area.
The operation was carried out in the San Sisto area, where the young man was seen driving a vehicle. After seeing the patrol, he appeared worried and nervous, prompting the officers to conduct a personal search of the vehicle as well.
After a search, officers found and seized seven packages containing cocaine, with a total weight of approximately 6 grams. The young man is in custody at the 'Via Ruggia' barracks, while the Court of Perugia confirmed the arrest.
"The operation is part of the ongoing efforts against drug trafficking carried out by the Perugia Carabinieri in the area, particularly during the August official holiday period," Italian media reported.
