A serious incident took place in Dhërmi, after a young man was allegedly taken hostage and then killed.
The news was given by the regional police. According to her, on 06.06.2024, they received notification that in Dhërmi citizen Eraldo Nevruzi, 31 years old, resident of Tirana, employee at the reception of a hotel in Dhërmi, Himare, had lost contact with the hotel owners.
Upon receiving the notification, the Local Directorate of the Vlorë Police and the Himarë Police Station have set up an investigative group under the direction of the Prosecutor's Office of the General Jurisdiction of Vlorë.
The Police Services and the investigative team went to the hotel and carried out a series of investigative actions. From the investigative actions, it is suspected that the EN citizen was shot with a firearm, around 00:30, by the citizen Gerald Shehu, 43 years old, born in Tepelena and resident in England.
From other investigative actions, it appears that after the incident, the citizen Gerald Shehu left for Greece. Meanwhile, the police are looking for the perpetrator and are also looking for the body. After killing the young man, the perpetrator hid the corpse and headed towards the neighboring country.
" 29 citizens have been administered in the quality of material evidence, legal evidence, and have been accompanied up to these moments, to be questioned in connection with this event. From the totality of actions so far, it is suspected that we are dealing with a serious criminal event. The investigative group, under the direction of the Prosecutor's Office, continues to work intensively to find the EN citizen, as well as clarifying the circumstances and complete legal documentation of the case. In the future, there will be other announcements about the actions carried out by the investigative group ", the police emphasize.
