Photos of the three young men who lost their lives in the tragic accident in the early hours of this morning on the "Gjirokastër-Tepelena" axis at the place called "Bypass" are published.
Two vehicles collided head-on, causing a tragic toll that marked the first day of 2026.
The people you see in the photo are Klejdi Myftari, 24 years old, Martin Dulaj, 25 years old, and Anxhelo Ruçi, 27 years old , who tragically lost their lives after suffering injuries.
It is learned that Marin Dulaj was traveling in a "Mercedes Benz" type vehicle with his 19-year-old fiancée Ardisa Demiri , who is currently in the Trauma Hospital in critical condition.
While Klejdi Myftari was traveling together with Anxhelo Ruçi, the son of the chief of the Tepelena police station, as well as the grandson of the former speaker of the Albanian Parliament, Gramoz Ruçi.
27-year-old Anxhelo Ruçi is the son of Rami Ruçi, currently the chief of the Tepelena police station. The circumstances of the accident remain unclear while investigations are ongoing to fully clarify the causes of the accident.
"Around 03:18, on the "Gjirokastër-Tepelena" road axis, at the place called "Bypass", the vehicle driven by citizen MD, 25 years old, resident of Tepelena collided with the vehicle driven by citizen KM, 24 years old, resident of Tepelena.
As a result of the accident, the two drivers of the vehicles, the passenger citizen AR, 27 years old, resident of Tepelena, lost their lives, and the citizen AD, 19 years old, resident of Delvina, was injured and is in the Trauma Hospital, under the care of doctors," the police announced earlier.
