A 46-year-old man ended up in police custody after being caught driving while intoxicated and armed.
The services of the Mat Police Commissariat intervened after information that a citizen was driving with a firearm and under the influence of alcohol. The stop was carried out on the Burrel-Komsi road segment, where the police blocked the "Volkswagen" vehicle in which the 46-year-old was driving.
During the search of the vehicle, officers found a concealed rifle, which they seized as material evidence. Authorities arrested citizen VN, a resident of the village of Drita, Burrel, in flagrante delicto.
He is accused of illegal possession of weapons and driving a vehicle in an irregular manner.
"Following the work to provide information with the aim of capturing and arresting persons who circulate armed or carry firearms in their homes without a permit, the services of the Mat Police Commissariat, based on information provided about a citizen who was circulating in a vehicle while drunk and armed, organized and finalized the police operation codenamed "Axis".
As a result of the operation, on the "Burrel-Komsi" road axis, the Police services found and stopped the "Volkswagen" vehicle in which the 46-year-old, armed man was traveling.
During the physical search of the vehicle, the Police services found a concealed rifle and seized it as material evidence.
At the end of the procedural actions, citizen VN, 46 years old, resident of the village of Drita, Burrel, was arrested in flagrante delicto for the criminal offenses of "Unauthorized possession and production of weapons, explosive weapons and ammunition" and "Irregular driving of a vehicle", the police announced.
