Orges Bilbili has again asked for freedom despite having received a life sentence from the Court of Special Appeals against Corruption and Organized Crime.
Today, through his lawyer, Bilbili has addressed an appeal to the Supreme Court where he seeks the annulment of the Appeal decision that sentenced him to life imprisonment.
The 33-year-old from Lushnja was handcuffed on April 10, 2020, at a time when the country was under quarantine.
He was spotted while performing strange actions by an officer of the "Eagle" forces, who chased him, repeatedly calling him to stop. Bilbili was convicted earlier for drug trafficking, while he is suspected of being the author of several murders in Lushnje as well as other serious crimes. He was declared wanted in 2017 together with another young man, Laert Haxhiu, who was arrested a few weeks ago in Ioannina, Greece.
Bilbili is Laert Haxhiu's accomplice in the Lushnjë murders in 2017 and it turns out that he was sentenced to 7 years and 4 months in prison for drug trafficking. Together with Haxhiu, Orges Bilbili is also suspected of the assassination, where Xjulio Shkurti (grandson of Aldo Bare) and Sajmo Xhelili were injured.
Bilbili is also accused of being an accomplice of the Italian pilot Giorgio Riformato, whose plane crashed on the coast of Divjaka, while he was preparing to traffic narcotics from Albania to Italy.
