An Albanian sentenced to over 4 years in prison has been caught by the Italian police.
The Italian media reports that the carabinieri of the local Selvazzano station tracked down and arrested the 34-year-old Albanian resident of Selvazzano Dentro, in compliance with the order issued by the Public Prosecutor's Office of Padova.
The arrested person was sent to the prison of Vicenza. He will have to serve a sentence of 4 years, 7 months and 18 days in prison for the criminal offense of possession for the purpose of drug trafficking, for the events committed between 2023 and 2024 in Selvazzano.
The Albanian was arrested by the army last July 2023 after a total of 130 grams of cocaine and heroin and 12,500 euros in cash were found in his possession.
The subsequent investigative activity brought the punishment against him, who in the meantime had returned to his country of origin.
The police managed to identify him at Bergamo airport where he had just landed on his way back to Italy. When confronted by the carabinieri, the suspect offered no resistance.
