The Durrës Court has sentenced Xhemal Loka to 10 years in prison, accused of causing the suicide of his wife, Bedrie Loka. The latter committed suicide, while in its decision the Court emphasizes that the woman was raped by her husband.
Initially, it was suspected that Bedrie Loka committed suicide due to bullying posts on TikTok, but it was proven that the barbaric violence against her led her to the extreme act. Xhemal Loka is also accused of exercising violence against children, and a new investigation has been launched against him. The court rejected the author's request for a summary trial.
It informs that it is the couple's two children, who, with their testimonies in the Prosecutor's Office and Court, have shed light on the dynamics of the quarrels, causes, circumstances, cases of violence and serious actions of their father towards their mother.
Testimony of R.Loka, Bedria's daughter:
" The parents' relationship was long-distance, the father was abroad for many years and was in prison in France for 8 years. There were both good and bad times, but we blamed the fact that he was in prison and the pressure there. When he came, it was good for the first year, then everything changed. As soon as the immigrant left, the psychological violence continued. The father also exercised violence against us and against my mother. He had a kind of anger with my mother, sometimes he behaved well, sometimes badly. We didn't understand him all the time. We had a father, we didn't want them to separate. My mother said we were going to separate. We children didn't want that to happen. We've been through a lot of difficult things over the years, dividing people with words wasn't fair because we're 4 children in the middle. He told me to walk on a razor's edge and any word I say will kill you. The smallest thing would offend him. Everything was calm until January 1, when they dropped me off at my husband's house. When they returned, mom and dad had a fight. We were at my uncle's for New Year's, my aunt had gone to our house. Mom told him I wasn't there, dad said a bad word, mom was touched because he was my man. He wouldn't let her go visit my uncle and my mom was paralyzed. He told her if she left I'll kill her, if she left I'll kill her brothers. As far as I had contact with him on January 3, those were the last moments. There were threats to her life all the time. Before he drank the poison, on January 1 around 7 or 8, he told me that he was closing the door, he says that when he was at his mother's he hadn't told her anything. He had probably gone to find a job for my mom, he had said other things and had turned against him. At 10 pm, after I talked to my dad who took me and asked if he would let me go to my uncle's, she was washing the dishes, I said: Stop with this talk! That night I was not calm, she told me "I'll sew it up, mom, I'll sew it up" and turned off the phone. On January 2, when I went to the hospital, she told me with hope that he would survive, she said "I've endured enough "!
Testimony of K. Loka, Bedrie's minor son:
" Dad has never been close to us, he has made threats, insults, towards us and the relationship between the two parents has been bad. Mom wanted to go to her mother and dad wouldn't let her go because other people were pushing her. Mom called me on the phone and told me dad was coming and I went to the house and I saw that things were in the extreme. Dad had raped mom with his fists, had her lying on the ground, they were fighting each other and mom was completely blackened from her arms and parts of her body that mom showed me. The two had argued even before, because dad wouldn't let her go to her uncles and mother and told her he would kill her brothers. When he came on December 27, 2023, he pushed mom and I stood up and he went and took the knife to stab me and if it weren't for mom and my brother he would have killed me. In relation to the last incident, my father has committed acts against my mother, both physical and psychological, from 2021 onwards, they have happened frequently. I was present at all the events that occurred at home and my father has committed repeated acts of physical violence against my mother, hitting her with his hands and with a stick, with tools that were there. In addition to my mother, my father has also raped me, he has beaten me with fists, for the fact that I do not study at school, with a belt, in the face and in the whole body, he has made me sit on the sofa and kicked me and it has happened on several occasions in the same way. That night he came on the 27th, he took the gun and told my mother that he would kill my brother. The gun was in the house and there were other weapons. He told my mother that he would make her drink poison and we were present. I worked at my mom's job and he called her threatening her and I saw my mom who wasn't at work, I looked for her and saw her sitting in a corner crying and she had the poison in her hand, a capsule and I opened it and it had a strong smell. This happened in September 2023, before my dad came from Greece ."
