Durrës Police have opened two investigation lines regarding the assassination attempt on the 29-year-old. Police are investigating a conflict over the disruption of deals in the narcotics sector and a money laundering case.
Sources from the investigation group say that the victim, Ermir Dedja, originally from Shijak and a resident of neighborhood no. 11 in Durrës, is a person with a criminal record, having been previously arrested for two incidents: initially in 2015 for drug trafficking and in 2017 for supporting the perpetrator of an injury in the city of Shijak.
Recently, Dedja was suspected of being involved in a criminal group in Durrës.
According to the police, he is suspected of being ambushed in neighborhood no. 18 of Durrës, while he was going to meet some of his friends. The investigation team did not find any shell casings at the scene, which has led forensic experts to believe that we are dealing with professional killers, who are suspected of having shot the 29-year-old from a vehicle, while the latter was moving on foot.
Police have seized several security cameras in the area where the incident occurred and have set up checkpoints in various parts of the city.
