A 33-year-old man from Kosovo was arrested at the border point of Morina after he was declared internationally wanted by Switzerland.
The police announce that the Swiss authorities have assigned the young man the security measure "Arrest with prison", as he is accused of money laundering.
The police are following the procedures for his extradition to Switzerland.
"The Border Police of Morina detained 1 Kosovar citizen declared internationally wanted, from Switzerland, for money laundering.
The Border Police Services, in addition to the implementation of the agreement on free movement between Albania and Kosovo, have increased vigilance to combat illegalities at the border, as well as to stop citizens who are signaled as wanted and try to enter or leave this border check point.
In this context, in cooperation with the services of DVP Kukës and as a result of the detailed interview and exchange of information between Interpol Tirana and counterparts in Switzerland, he was caught at the entrance of Albania and arrested by the Crime Investigation Sector of DVP Kukës, with purpose of extradition to Switzerland, Kosovar citizen AD, 33 years old.
He was declared an international wanted man, after the Swiss authorities have assigned him the security measure "Arrest in prison" for money laundering, the police announced.
