Two Albanians and three Italians have been arrested by the Italian authorities for the murder of Elson Kalaveri, an event that took place in August 2022 in Sasso Pisano in Pisa. As the Italian media write, the murder was ordered by an Albanian in revenge for the death of his brother.
"He decided to take a group of murderers to implement what is called the "Kanuni" in Albania", writes Today.
The arrests were made this Friday morning in Castelnuovo Val di Cecina (a village in Pisa), Naples, Casoria (a village in Naples), Pescara and Albania. Italian authorities are not naming names, but say they are responsible, in various roles, for the premeditated killing of Elson Kalaveri.
The operation of the Italian authorities was called "Kanuni" and came as a result of in-depth investigations by the Carabinieri and the Prosecutor's Office in Pisa. The verifications revealed that the murder was ordered by an Albanian, Gent Keçi's brother, to take revenge. For this he paid a group of killers, which in this case are the three Italians. While the other arrested Albanian has provided information on the location of Kalaveri.
Elson Kalaveri, 36 years old from Thumana, lived in the province of Siena. He was killed on August 18, 2022 in a mafia assassination near Sasso Pisano. The Albanian was traveling in his car, but as a passenger, when he was stopped by another vehicle.
At this moment the killers shot him at least 15 times. The driver of the car in which Kalaveri was traveling, another Albanian, was not injured. He immediately went to the village and asked for help. Other compatriots of Kalavari tried to give him first aid, but he died.
Kalaveri is a well-known name for the Albanian police. Above all, he was involved in an event in 2014, when inside the police station in Mamurras he seriously injured Gent Keçin.
"In Albania, he was arrested in 2014 for killing his neighbor, but defended himself by saying he had acted in self-defense," Italian media Today reported.
The victim also had criminal records in the exploitation of prostitution in the neighboring country.
