
A serious incident has been recorded in Tirana, where an Italian citizen is reported to have lost his life after undergoing surgery at a dental clinic in the capital.
It is learned that the 63-year-old from Italy, who was temporarily residing in Tirana, had an intervention at a dental clinic on Kosovars' Street on May 20, then on May 22, he presented for treatment and did not feel well.
Meanwhile, despite medical assistance provided by doctors, the 63-year-old passed away today.
The police and the investigation team have questioned the clinic's administrator and dentist and are working to fully uncover the causes of the incident.
"On 22.05.2025, the Italian citizen DS, 63 years old, with temporary residence in Tirana, went to the hospital for treatment, as it is suspected that after a surgical intervention on 20.05.2025, at a dental clinic on Kosovars' Street, he did not feel well.
The 63-year-old, despite the medical assistance he received, passed away this morning.
"Criminal Investigation Specialists at Police Station No. 2 have conducted the first investigative actions, where they have taken statements from the clinic's administrator and dentist. The materials were referred to the Prosecutor's Office for further evaluation of the case ," the police announced.
