Altin Arapaj was killed for a house? The motive for the crime in Greece is
In the photo: Suspected perpetrator Mikel Selimaj

The claim over a house appears to be behind the murder of 41-year-old Altin Arapaj from Vlora, who was found dead in a vineyard in Rafina, Greece.

The victim's wife has given her version of the case, speaking exclusively to Greek television "STAR". The perpetrator Mikel Selimaj, 46 years old from Vlora, and two other people will appear in court today.

According to the woman, the cause was a house owned by an American and rented for years by a Canadian.

"This man had warned her, he kept telling her 'leave because the house is mine, I'll take it, you're in the middle of nowhere,'" she said.

Mikel Selimaj and Altin Arapaj had known each other for a long time and had been a concern to police authorities at a younger age. However, the fatal meeting seems to have been organized to resolve a misunderstanding regarding a luxury house in the Lucas area, while a few days ago there was a corresponding court decision.

"On Monday, when they lost the trial and had to pay compensation, in my opinion, the Canadian called her and said: 'You know what? Since I have to pay this compensation, take this money and take it out of my hands. In the end, they paid off the house with the death of my husband,'" said the victim's wife.

Meanwhile, the lawyer for the alleged perpetrator Mikel Selimaj said that his client had consumed large amounts of drugs.

"What results for my client, and we will request the relevant tests, is that he had consumed large amounts of drugs, especially cocaine," said Mikel Selimaj's lawyer, Nikos Roussopoulos.

46-year-old Mikel Selimaj and two other people who were present at the murder are being held in custody.
