
A 25-year-old woman, identified as Melisa Saraçi, has been arrested by police in Tirana, on suspicion of managing a call center involved in financial fraud against foreign citizens.
According to authorities, the activity took place in an apartment located on "Tish Daija" street, where through telephone communications, foreign citizens were convinced to invest in fake stock exchanges.
During the operation, police seized 13 computer units, 2 laptops, 5 mobile phones, as well as other items suspected of being used to carry out this criminal activity.
"DVP Tirana/The operation codenamed "Adapted" is finalized. The 25-year-old woman was arrested after she had adapted her apartment as a call center to deceive foreign citizens into investing in fictitious stock exchanges.
Computer equipment, cell phones, and other material evidence were seized from the apartment.
As a result of the information obtained operationally, specialists from the Economic and Financial Crimes Investigation Section, in cooperation with the Cybercrimes Investigation Directorate at the DPPSH, organized and finalized the operation codenamed "Adapted".
As part of this operation, citizen MS, 25 years old, residing in Tirana, was arrested.
Police services intervened in the apartment owned and managed by the 25-year-old, on "Tish Daija" street, which had been adapted as a call center, from where it is suspected that foreign citizens were being deceived into investing in fictitious stock exchanges.
"As material evidence, 13 computer units, 2 laptops, 5 mobile phones and other material evidence were seized that will serve to document this criminal activity. The procedural materials were referred to the Tirana Prosecutor's Office for further action," the police announced.
