Two Georgian citizens are wanted after defrauding an Exchange, exchanging counterfeit banknotes. It is known that the two Georgians exchanged 40 million ALL in euros. The police are working to catch them.

As a result of the intensive investigative actions carried out by the Sector for the Investigation of Economic and Financial Crimes in DVP Elbasan, after the report by the owner of an exchange, that 2 citizens had defrauded him in the exchange, exchanging a sum of money from Lek to Euro, with banknotes falsified, made it possible to identify the 2 perpetrators of the case.
Following the actions, the Georgian citizens LG, 49 years old and LP, 46 years old, were wanted for the criminal offenses of "Fraud" and "Forgery of coins".
These 2 citizens, on 01.06.2024, in the exchange entity owned by citizen AA, have exchanged 40 million alleks, for 40,000 euros, with forged banknotes. The work for the capture of these 2 citizens continues. The procedural materials were handed over to the Prosecutor's Office," the police announced.
