The young Albanian, Aurel Kurti, who was arrested after raping his 22-year-old wife Dafina, in their apartment in Volos, has stated that he did not keep her prisoner.
Kurti considered this accusation a lie and claimed that the reason for the argument between them was that the 22-year-old wanted to escape to England, to her cousins.
"It is a lie, I did not keep him prisoner. She wanted us to leave and go to England, where her cousins were. If he wanted a divorce, he could tell me. I came to Greece because I wanted a different life. I had told her many times to go out and she didn't want to because she said we can't. I worked from morning to night and my house was always full for her and the baby. We fought because he wanted us to leave," said the 28-year-old, writes Protothema.
He added that the only thing he cares about is their 2 and a half year old daughter.
"I only care about my child, it's my life, that's why I worked so many hours, so that he doesn't miss anything", said Aurel Kurti.
Meanwhile, the 22-year-old woman, who was taken under the protection of the Greek state together with her minor daughter, is reported to be receiving threats from her husband's family to withdraw the lawsuit against him. She has asked the court to leave her in prison, otherwise her life is in danger.
