A 27-year-old man has been arrested by police in the Blloku area of Tirana for being armed. The young man, Ervis Spahiu, was caught red-handed with a firearm, a pistol, ammunition and a large amount of money during the night.
"The services of Police Commissariat No. 2, following intensive checks conducted after midnight, with a focus on identifying citizens who circulate armed and who pose a danger to citizens and public order, organized and finalized the police operation codenamed "Midnight".
As a result, citizen ES, 27 years old, resident of Domje, was captured and arrested on "Ibrahim Rugova" street.
During a search of his bag, the Police found and seized a firearm, a pistol with ammunition, which he was carrying without a permit, as well as a sum of money.
"The procedural materials were passed to the Prosecutor's Office for further action," the police statement said.
