The "SKY ECC" mega-trial with 128 defendants, accused of international cocaine trafficking, has continued in Belgium for the last few days.
For Shkëlzen P., who was active in the cryptophone "SKY ECC" under the name "Bugati", the prosecution demanded a sentence of 10 years in prison, the confiscation of 200 thousand euros and a professional ban and a ban on holding public functions for ten years.
He is known to have transported drugs to Italy on account of Eridan Munoz Guerrero, one of the suspected leaders of the group, using vehicles registered in the name of front companies. Photos of cocaine blocks and contacts within the criminal organization were found on his "SKY ECC" cryptophone.
The public prosecution demanded ten years in prison for Mehmet S., as well as the sequestration of 500,000 euros and a professional ban and a ban on holding public positions for ten years. Analysis of WhatsApp messages on his cellphone also revealed photos of blocks of cocaine, conversations about importing large quantities of drugs from Latin America to Antwerp and contacts with Eridan Munoz Guerrero. Mehmet S. is also accused of forgery, as he forged his identity card and changed his name.
Federal prosecutors sought 7 years in prison for Brenard S., as part of an extensive drug traffic uncovered after the decryption of the Encrochat and SKY ECC messaging services. As a repeat offender, his brother, Adlis S., risks 10 years in prison.
Conversations with Eridan Munoz Guerrero, one of the suspected leaders of the organization, about a laboratory and 50 kg of cocaine seized by German customs in Hamburg, were found on the phone equipped with encrypted communication software "SKY ECC" attributed to Adlis S. The instructions were given by Brussels, the prosecution noted. "Therefore, Belgium is competent for these facts," he argued. The prosecutor also pointed out the observations and interceptions carried out by the police in which Adlis S. appears.
Brenard S.'s fingerprints were also found in a box, more precisely in tools intended for washing cocaine, the public prosecutor continued. In March 2022, the defendant was arrested in Germany in a car transporting drugs and 10,000 euros. The vehicle was registered in the name of the company "BAT Concept", used as a front company by the organization, according to the prosecution. "Even after the arrest of Eridan Munoz Guerrero, the two brothers continued to rent boxes through the company "BAT Concept" and transport cocaine," recalled the federal prosecutor.
The magistrate also requested a confiscation of 100,000 euros against Brenard S., 250,000 euros against Adlis S. and a ban on the management of the company for the two brothers for 10 years.
