The 45-year-old Italian Marco Gaio Romeo, accused of the murder of his former Spanish partner, last May 17 in Terremolinos of Malaga and the murder of the Albanian Sibora Gagani, by means of a letter sent to the judge of the case, has admitted the first crime, but has denied the second.
The Spanish media report that the 45-year-old, who has been in solitary confinement since last March, testifies in a letter that he wants to confess to the murder of Paula, the 28-year-old mother of 3 children, the last of whom with the author, killed with 14 stabbing in the house where they lived, in Terremolinos. He says he wants to do it because in prison he had "a great approach to God" and he is "very sorry".
In the same letter where he says that he is ready to repeat the testimony before the court, Marco Gaio Romeo admits that he walled up the body of Sibora, the 22-year-old of Albanian origin, who 9 years ago left with him from Italy to Spain , but assures that he is not responsible for her murder.
As for the murder of Paula, who, according to the evidence collected by the Spanish authorities, had been suffering from the abuse of the 45-year-old for a long time, but had never denounced him for fear of losing her children, in a letter he confirmed the version he gave to the investigators after his arrest . After a fight, he grabbed the young woman by the throat, squeezing her and then throwing her to the ground. As she screamed, he killed her and then ran away as he panicked.
As for Sibora Gagan, insistently claiming that he did not kill her, Marco expresses regret for "doing such a slanderous thing", such as walling her body.
Sibora's body was found on June 6, after a spontaneous confession to Marco when he was arrested for Paula's murder. The 45-year-old was in the corridors of the police station when he told the officers that he had killed Sibora. However, later when he appeared before the court he denied it.
But that was enough to reopen the case of Sibora. Checks in the house where they lived revealed a wooden box in the wall, inside which the body of the 22-year-old woman was found. She was killed with 4 stabs in the back. Marco then boxed her up and walled her up, claiming that she had abandoned him and gone away.
