The Court of Appeal of Tirana has started examining the file on the death of Dorjana Haka, Alban Hoxha's partner, who passed away in November 2014, a few days after giving birth to their son.
The death of the 25-year-old shocked the entire public opinion, while the family accused the doctors of carelessness and negligence during the operation.
The mother of Dorjana Haka has stated today that she has faith in the justice bodies, calling on them not to drag out the trial any longer.
"I hope that the trial will not be delayed. We have been waiting for the word of justice for years," said her mother.
Two doctors of the "Koço Gliozheni" maternity hospital are accused of the death of Alban Hoxha's ex-wife, who gave birth to a son, but lost her own life just a few hours after giving birth.
Dorjana Haka passed away in November 2014, a few days after giving birth to her son through cesarean section.
The defendants in the process, the surgeon Petrit Rexhepi and the anesthesiologist Elona Burba, are accused of "negligent treatment" in relation to this case.
According to the Prosecutor's Office of the capital, the death of the 25-year-old was a result of the doctors' negligence and their failure to carry out the necessary tests before and after the operation.
