
A serious incident occurred this evening in the village of Bogdan in Berat, where a 57-year-old man lost his life after allegedly being accidentally shot with a shotgun by his 53-year-old fellow villager.
It is learned that Adriatik Toska, 57, was guarding corn plots together with Dhimitër Kuqin, 53, to prevent damage from pigs.
During an attempt to shoot a pig, Kuqi accidentally fired a couple of shots, hitting Toska, seriously injuring him. The 57-year-old later died in hospital after not surviving his injuries.
Police forces immediately arrived at the scene and are conducting investigative actions to clarify the circumstances of the incident. The perpetrator of the accident, 53-year-old Kuqi, has been taken to the Berat Police Station for further investigations.
"Around 21:00, in the village of Bogdan, Berat, citizen Th. K., 53 years old, resident of the village of Bogdan, is suspected of having shot with a shotgun with the intention of killing a wild animal and, through negligence, having injured citizen AT, 57 years old, who as a result of the wound received, died in hospital.
Citizen Th. K. has been escorted to the premises of the Berat Local Police Directorate for further action ," the police announced.
