A 37-year-old man was arrested in Gjirokastër, after he did not obey the police order. The police found 11 immigrants in the vehicle.
" The Local Directorate of Police, Gjirokastër, as a result of following the information provided by the police intelligence about the transportation of some citizens, with the aim of illegally crossing the border, finalized the coded operation "Delta 1".
As part of this operation, citizen Xh. C., 37 years old, resident of Fier.
The drivers of the two vehicles, which were being used for this criminal activity, were signaled to stop on the "Kelcyre-Ura e Lekli" road axis. They did not obey the order, they continued the movement quickly and abandoned the vehicles in the village of Mezhgoran. Immediately, the Police services were put in pursuit and as a result of coordination with DVP Fier, it was possible to capture one of them, citizen Xh. C...
From the checks, in the vehicle driven by the 37-year-old, 11 citizens from Third Countries were found, who intended to cross the border illegally.
The police are working to identify and arrest the accomplice of citizen Xh. C., who allegedly supervised the road where the vehicle was passing, in order to avoid the services of the Police.
The procedural materials were passed to the Prosecutor's Office at the Court of First Instance of the General Jurisdiction of Gjirokastër. ", says the police announcement.
