Crime in Albania seems to be breaking all barriers, as murders are being ordered even inside prisons. Arben Leshi was killed by Sokol Mjacaj with 3 bullets, a murder that is suspected to have been paid.
Prisoner Indrit Shaqja confessed to the prosecutors that 200,000 euros were offered for the "head" of Lleshi. He said that they had asked him to poison him, but he had not done it and it seems that this "job" was taken over by Mjacaj.
But Lleshi is not the only one for whom he was paid, as according to Shaqe's testimony, 200,000 euros were given to eliminate another prisoner, Xheladin Krujë.
But who is Xheladin Kruja?
He is accused of killing the two brothers Eliton and Enton Grezda, 20 and 18 years old, on May 3, 2001, in the "Naim Gjylbegu" neighborhood in Shkodër.
The murder happened after a fight between young people when Kruja was also 22 years old at the time. After the fight, he went home, took the machine gun and fired volleys at the two brothers, reports Vizion Plus.
He fled the scene and was arrested two days later. While he was serving his sentence in the prison of Saint Kolli, on June 3, 2021, he tried to kill the former head of the municipality of Rrethina, Kleves Muja.
A year later, in 2013, he was sentenced to 16 years and 8 months in prison and sent to a high security prison.
According to the prosecution body, from the investigations carried out, it was proven, thanks to the footage recorded by the security cameras of the prison, that the defendant Xheladin Kruja hit the citizen Keleves Muja in the neck with a pipe modified as a knife. This attack happened just as Muja was returning to his cell after meeting with his family members.
