The names of the Albanians arrested thanks to the SPAK mega-operation, in cooperation with EUROJUST and Interpol, are cleared.
The file of the Italian prosecutor's office has been obtained, in which the names of the Albanians against whom criminal proceedings have already started in the neighboring country are presented.

The Special Prosecutor's Office informs that in the framework of the cooperation with international partners, assets worth 5 million euros have been seized.
While 67 people have been arrested in Albania, Italy, Germany, Spain and the United Kingdom. Other preventive measures have been taken against 12 others in Italy.
In connection with this operation, 32 commercial entities, 45 vehicles, 4 motor vehicles, over 200 bank accounts, 19 real estates were seized in Albania.

On 05.02.2024, the coded operation "Muratori" was finalized, developed within the framework of criminal proceedings no. 270 of 2021, registered for the criminal offenses of "Trafficking of narcotics", carried out in the special form of cooperation of the group of structured criminal, "Structured criminal group", "Cleaning of products of criminal offense or criminal activity" and "Commitment of criminal offenses by criminal organization and structured criminal group", provided by articles 28/4, 283/a, 287, 333/a and 334 of the Criminal Code.
The investigations of this criminal proceeding were carried out within the framework of the Joint Investigation Team established between the Special Prosecutor's Office against Corruption and Organized Crime and the Prosecutor's Office of Florence, Anti-Mafia Section, Italy, with the mediation of EUROJUST.
Italian and Albanian authorities have taken action against a large drug trafficking network operating in both countries. With the support of Eurojust and Europol in a large-scale operation, today on 05.02.2024, 67 suspects were arrested in Albania, Italy, Germany, Spain, and the United Kingdom, and against 12 suspects of other preventive measures were taken in Italy. The network mainly trafficked heroin, cocaine, hashish using double floor cars or secret compartments.
Last year, during an operation against the same organized crime group, 21 Albanian citizens were arrested in Albania. This operation also led to the seizure of a quantity of narcotics worth 2.7 million euros.
Today's operation led to the seizure of assets worth 5 million euros.
In Albania, 32 commercial entities, 45 vehicles, 4 motor vehicles, over 200 bank accounts, 19 real estates were seized.
Two Europol officers were deployed in Albania and Italy during the day of the operation to support the national authorities with their investigative measures.
