The Greek police have arrested 4 Albanians, among them two leaders of the group, suspected of cultivating a plot of cannabis sativa on the island of Evia.
The Greek police had provided information that since April of this year, Mustafa Gjolleshi, 36 years old from Lazarati, and Edvin Xhaferi, 45 years old from Delvina, had established a criminal group by cultivating a plot of cannabis in a forest area in Manikia on the island of Evia in Greece. sativa.
As part of an operation carried out yesterday in the place where cannabis was cultivated, 37-year-old Robert Laraj from Libohova was caught red-handed taking care of the plants.
At the scene, 1,061 cannabis sativa narcotic plants were found cultivated in 6 areas, of which 103 were in plastic form, as well as two umbrellas erected and equipment for watering plants supplied by a source.
The operation continued in an apartment in Seta, Evia, where Ardjan Shaipi, 51 years old from Tirana, employed as a driver in a security company, was arrested.
In the area of Philadelphia and Kipsel in Athens, the police continued the operation by handcuffing the 36-year-old from Lazarati, Mustafa Gjolleshi, holder of legal Greek documents, as well as the 45-year-old from Delvina, Edvin Xhaferi.
The latter two, according to the Greek police, were responsible for organizing the cultivation of drug seedlings, the supply and transport of equipment and supplies through associates to the plantation area, as well as the direct transportation of their associates to the area, Laraj took care of the plants while Shaipi with the transport of group members and supplies using the vehicle of the company where he worked.
According to the Greek police, Gjolleshi and Xhaferi, in order to make their identification or possible connection with illegal activity difficult, used a work vehicle with the data of a local owner for their movement.
During the search in the residences of the arrested, 1,500 cannabis sativa seeds, mobile phones and SIM cards, 940 euros and 1 vehicle were found and seized.
It is estimated that the possible profits from the drug trade could reach 1 million euros.
