A day ago, Safet Bajri was arrested by order of SPAK. The scheme used to arrest him was more of a trap than a proper operation, as is usually the case.
He was invited to take a blood sample for DNA determination, and when he presented himself at the Shkodra Police Directorate, RENEA forces handcuffed him and transported him to Tirana. After two or three hours at the Tirana Police Directorate, he was transported to the cells of the security block, following the measure of arrest and imprisonment determined by the GJKKO.
A few hours after the arrest, SPAK in an official announcement announced that there is evidence of the involvement of Safet Bajri, Behar Bajri and their friend, Asmer Bilali in the execution of Fatbardh Lici in Shkodra. This event took place 7 years ago. Fatbardh Lici, killed on August 10, 2018, is the brother of Mustafa Lici, whose family is involved in a chain of murders with the Bajri tribe.
But it seems that the origin of the clashes did not begin with the murder of Fatbardh Lici, but with the placement of a quantity of TNT on Lulzim Kulla, a businessman and son-in-law in the Lici family. The attack to eliminate Lulzim Kulla more closely resembled a terrorist act, as a quantity of TNT was placed on a motorcycle, which exploded in broad daylight, causing 8 injuries, innocent citizens who happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time.
On July 15, a couple was brutally murdered in their car, and the most shocking element was their 3-year-old son, who survived without a scratch. The couple's bodies were found about 5 hours after the murder, with the child having escaped from the back seat and sitting on the lap of his dead mother. Police identified the victims as Boran Bërçana and his partner Silva Ndoci.
On August 10, 2018, a masked man entered one of the most popular cafes in Shkodra and executed Fatbardh Lici. The 53-year-old was shot dead and his body was left on the table where he drank coffee almost every day. Fatbardh Lici's execution was necessarily linked to the murder of the couple, whose murder was officially blamed on the Bajraj group.
Just 13 days after Lici's murder, on August 23, Agron Mollaj and Gëzim Hysa, nephew and uncle, disappeared. The Bajrajs reappeared, but again as suspects. The bodies of the two men were never found.
On September 1, Arjan Ferracaku was ambushed, where he was said to have had his last phone conversation with Astrit Bilal, the father of Asmer Bilal. Arjan was killed while riding a horse, while just a month and a half later, his cousin who sold fish in the Shkodra market was also killed.
Events seem to have stopped until March 30, 2019, when Astrit and Brahim Bilali, the father and uncle of Asmer Bilali, were killed at the door of their house. At that time, Ibrahim Lici was the suspect.
When SPAK attacked police and justice officials in the context of the metamorphosis case, Behar Bajri escaped to be captured and extradited, while Safet Bajri lived peacefully in his stronghold in Dobraç until October 30, when the massacre of 4 people shocked the entire country.
