A 46-year-old member of a criminal group for heroin trafficking was arrested in Kavaja with the intention of extradition to Italy.
According to the police, Samuel Garuja was arrested.
The Court of Catanzaro, Italy, in July 2023, assigned the security measure "Arrest in prison", for the criminal offense "Participation in a criminal group, for the purpose of drug trafficking", provided by the Italian Criminal Code.
The criminal group in which the 46-year-old participated is suspected to have trafficked significant amounts of narcotics, mainly Heroin, to Italy during the period 2013-2018.
Interpol Tirana and Interpol Rome are cooperating to extradite this citizen.

During the operation, the Albanian citizen SG, 46 years old, who was declared internationally wanted, was located in Kavajë, captured and provisionally arrested, to be extradited to Italy. The Court of Catanzaro, Italy, on 04.07.2023, assigned the security measure "Arrest in prison", for the criminal offense "Participation in a criminal group, for the purpose of drug trafficking", provided by the Italian Criminal Code.
