A serious accident occurred at midnight today in Voskop, Korça, where a vehicle fatally hit a 50-year-old woman riding a bicycle.
The victim has been identified as 50-year-old Afërdita Elezi.
Police say the 73-year-old driver has been taken to the police station for questioning.
The investigation team is working to determine the causes of the accident.
"Around 20:40, on Voskopoja road, a vehicle driven by citizen FH, about 73 years old, hit citizen AE, about 50 years old, resident of Korça, who was riding a bicycle. As a result, the 50-year-old died at the scene.
The driver of the vehicle was taken to the police station for further action.
"The investigative group, under the direction of the Prosecutor's Office, is working to determine the circumstances and cause of the accident," the police announced.
