The police continue the investigations to unravel the execution of the 22-year-old mafia type, Gëzim Sinomati.
The young man was shot by a sniper on the balcony of the apartment in Vlora where he had gone out to smoke a cigarette, where a bullet took his life, while after the murder the lights were turned off in the surrounding area.
14 people have been accompanied so far. The perpetrators' vehicle was burned in the 24 Maji neighborhood, but the crime weapon has not been found.
Sniper assassinations are rare in Albania, but in the case of the use of this type of weapon, investigators say there are two qualities.
First, the perpetrator is a professional and requires execution to the end, and not giving the signal, and second, not to mark victims outside of the one who is the target.
Sniper weapons in Albania, apart from the few that have the special forces of the Police, have mostly entered from abroad and infiltrated criminal groups through sea lines.

January 7, 2024- A bullet to the head took the life of 22-year-old Gëzim Sinomati, who was executed on the evening of January 7, 2024, while he was on the balcony of the apartment on the third floor of a building in the "Hajro Çakërri" neighborhood in Vlorë.
The young man had just returned from Belgium and had gone out to smoke a cigarette on the balcony, where he was allegedly shot by a sniper, a mafia-type execution that he could not survive.
March 9, 2000 – Ilir Bardhi was executed by sniper inside his cell in prison 313 in Tirana. The sniper was placed in the window of a building near the prison building, almost 200 meters away as the crow flies. Bardhi was arrested as a suspect for a double murder.
June 12, 2015- A sniper's bullet took the life of 51-year-old Xhabir Shega in the yard of his apartment in Shkodër in June 2015. According to the police, the shooter was positioned on the hill of Rozafa Castle. The victim had survived another sniper attack a year before the incident.
June 2017 - another sniper assassination against a detainee was recorded. The high-precision weapon was fired from the hill near Vaqarri prison. According to the investigation, the target of the attack was Gazmir Daci , but Kosovar Lili Dule was injured.
January 2020- a typical mafia sniper execution was that of businessman Kastriot Reçi, in Rrëshen in January 2020. The businessman was shot in the heart while walking in the city center. The killer was located on the top floor of a 9-story building, where, according to witnesses, he entered disguised as a woman./Voxnews
