The footage shortly before the murder of Enkelejda Danaj in Athens is published.
The 50-year-old who killed his ex-wife in the early hours of Thursday, on a main road in Menidi, below her house, had set up a death trap, as the shocking document published by protothema.gr shows.
The author, as he admitted to the police, knew the woman's route. She made sure to get under her house before she passed.
In the video, he is seen crossing the road from the left to the right. Then he turns, while his wife, dressed in a white garment, is seen on the right side walking. When she sees it, she stops.
Not long after, she died. The attacker approached her and started stabbing her repeatedly, stabbing her more than 10 times. In the end he left the knife stuck in her dead body until the police arrived.
He then fled the scene, went to a hotel and tried to hide in a building where he reportedly worked. He also had cans of beer with him, consuming a large amount of alcohol. Something he did even when he lived with his victim. He would drink and then beat her. Eventually, police officers from the local department found him on patrol and handcuffed him.
A little earlier, as a new video of prothothema.gr shows, the 50-year-old holds a bag of beers in his hand, which he throws into a recycling bin.
The accused has shown no remorse for the crime, while he is expected to appear before the investigating officer again on Monday morning to apologize for his act. Criminal proceedings have been opened against him for intentional homicide in a calm state of mind, possession of weapons without a permit and use of weapons.
